Freedom

I work with a nice young man who's name is Tuan, I always just thought of him a Asian, not really thinking of which part of Asia he would be from. He told me a few weeks ago that he was going to be spot lighted in our monthly news letter. I thought to myself that I needed to read that, because I thought it would be interesting. Well, I just had no idea how interesting it would be. Come to find out, Tuan is from Viet Nam. At the age of 9 years old he fled the county, only to be caught and put in a prison camp, he was never hurt physically, but mental interrogation, he told me that they would throw a large gun on the table while they were interrogating him. He did finally get out of there, and was allowed to come to America. He lived with his uncle until he was 19, that is when his parents came to America. I guess the one thing I got out of his story is that I have taken my freedom for granted. I just can't imagine myself surviving what Tuan had to go through. He is a remarkable young man. I wish all of you could meet him. He just became an American Citizen. Isn't that a great story. Please appreciate your freedom.

Another day another dollars, can you tell it is payday?

I was thinking on my way home about my Dad and how cancer took him from us so quickly. It also made me think of my son's friend Mike's mother, Irma, who is suffering from cancer, that is if the Lord hasn't called her home already. I just can't imagine what it would be like to be dying from cancer. One positive would be that you knew you were going to die so you could have an opportunity to tell people how you felt about them, unlike if you were taken by a heart attack or an accident. I know this is not a good subject, but it is one that I think about often. I just want my children to know how much I love them and how proud I am of them. I also want my grand children to know what a special gift they are for me. I enjoy spending time with them so much. I guess that is why I look forward to moving back north when we retire, that way we will be closer to all of them and I can spend more time with them. Boy I kind of got off on a strange subject huh, sorry, but that what happens when you get my age I guess. Better sign off for now.

January 17, 2007

Well, can you beleive it, I was able to get on to my blog without any problems. I guess I can learn something new, I am not as old as I thought I was.

Well, I was able to get quite a bit accomplished today at work. Nothing out of the ordinary, just some data entry.

I know what you are thinking, I had kinda of a boring day huh, well that's what happens when you have a semi boring life. I will see what tomorrow brings, maybe something more exciting. God Bless.

January 16, 2007

Oh yeah, I am quite the blogger, I went to add a message today and guess what, I forgot how to sign on, but I am on track again this am and on my way to blogging again.

Well, as for my day yesterday, I have been having some problems with my bladder, I guess that's what happens to you when you get older, so I called my doctor and he gave me a script for detrol, great medicine, but not on the preferred list, you know what I mean, all of the medicines that work for you are not on the preferred list, so they cost you an arm and a leg, so when I pick up the script I ask the people at the pharmacy if there is a generic, and they gave me this information, so I call my doctor and get another script, but oh what side effects that drug gave me. So I guess I will have to bite the bullet and pay the price for the non preferred drug.

As for Work yesterday, it was great, I was able to get a lot accomplished. So I am hoping for the same today.

My First Blog Thoughts January 15, 2006

This is my first message to all of you viewers. I know most of you are working today, but I am one of the lucky people that work for our local county and because of that I have the day off. I am trying to make the most of my special day, by running some errands and trying to save a little time to rest, seeing I have been fighting a cold ever since Christmas. I think I have finally beaten it, without having to make a trip to my doctor for the famous Z-Pack. The reason I wanted to create my own blog is because my daughter started her a few weeks ago and I just love going to it everyday and seeing what is new in her life. She is an amazing young mother of three, I marvel at how she handles her everyday life. Much better than I could of at her age. I guess I should tell you a little something about myself. I am 58 years old and am married to a wonderful man, his name it Russ. We live in central Florida, only until we retire and then we plan on returning to our hometown in Michigan, where most of our six children live. We moved to Florida almost twelve years ago to be closer to my parents, so we could be here to help them is we were needed, but now that my Dad has passed away, and that only leaves my Mother, we have decided to move back to Michigan when we retire so we can be closer to our children and grandchildren, but that won't be until five years from now. We do go to visit as often as possible, but we do miss them all a lot.
